What Is ZipUpp? How AI Can Improve Hiring and Career Matching
Less time organizing and comparing information, more time for conversations and informed decisions. An introduction to ZipUpp, its purpose, and the company behind it.

Both employers hiring people and people looking for work spend considerable time and effort before they meet.
Employers read résumés, review experience and skills, and conduct interviews. Job seekers search for opportunities, prepare applications, and wait for decisions. Along the way, an employer and a person who could have been a good fit may pass each other by without ever knowing it.
I created ZipUpp because I wondered whether we could make these connections work better.
ZipUpp is an AI-powered hiring and career-matching platform operated by Nagasaki Private Tours Co., Ltd. (Nagasaki Private Tours 株式会社). It officially launched on September 26, 2026, and supports Japanese and English.
Our aim is to reduce the effort employers and job seekers spend organizing and comparing information, giving them more time for conversations that build mutual understanding and for making informed decisions.
Giving employers more time to understand people
Reviewing applications is an important part of a recruiter’s work. But as the number of applications grows, it becomes harder to understand each person’s experience and strengths in depth.
For example, an experience described differently from a job posting may still involve skills the employer needs. A job title or the way a résumé is presented may not fully convey what someone has actually done.
ZipUpp supports this initial review by using AI to organize and compare information.
By combining AI screening and AI interviews, we aim to deepen understanding of experiences and perspectives that documents alone may not capture. Candidate information is also disclosed in stages as the hiring process progresses, supporting further consideration by both employers and candidates.
With less time spent on preliminary checks, recruiters should have more time for the conversation that matters: What could we accomplish with this person?
Helping job seekers discover work that fits
Company names, job titles, pay, and other conditions matter when looking for work. But they do not always tell you whether a role is right for you.
Experience you have built may be useful in a different kind of role. A way of working you take for granted may be precisely the strength an employer needs.
ZipUpp aims to create new connections by using AI to help organize and compare candidates’ experience, skills, and preferences with employers’ requirements.
We want people to spend less of their time simply submitting more applications, and more of it considering where their experience can make a difference, what kind of environment they want to work in, and which employers to talk with. This is central to our thinking at ZipUpp.
AI supports the process. People make the final decisions.
Hiring and career moves affect people’s lives and the future of businesses.
That is why I do not believe we should leave everything to AI.
AI supports the organization and comparison of information, and the checks that help both sides understand each other. Employers decide whether to hire. Candidates decide whether they want to work for that company.
Even when experience and conditions align, some things become clear only through conversation: attitudes toward work, the workplace atmosphere, and relationships with future colleagues. Human dialogue is essential to understanding these things.
We want ZipUpp to reduce the effort needed to reach those conversations and support decisions that both sides can feel comfortable making.
Starting in Japan and opening up more connections
ZipUpp has Japanese and English editions.
Language support is an important foundation for expanding connections between employers and people. As a service that began in Japan, we will keep improving it so people from different backgrounds can use it.
Starting with no programming experience, I used AI to bring ZipUpp to life over approximately four months.
But building and launching a service do not, on their own, determine its value. The work ahead is to listen to employers and job seekers who use it, learn from their feedback, and develop it into something useful.
